Sumsung's NEXT Gen Band battery

Samsung’s Band battery is designed to be housed in the flexible band of a smartwatch or fitness tracker, though its applications could certainly extend beyond those categories. Meanwhile, the Stripe battery can “bend and conform freely as a fiber and is equipped with innovative energy density,” according to Samsung.

The new batteries are still in the prototype phase, but testing appears to be going quite well. According to Samsung, its new battery tech has the potential to increase battery life in some mobile devices by as much as 50%. Also of note, these new flexible batteries were able to withstand 50,000 bends during Samsung’s tests, suggesting durability will not be a concern.

At the 15th Of November Earth will experience 15 days of total darkness

Astronomers from NASA have indicated that the World will remain in complete darkness starting Sunday, November 15, 2015 at 3:00 am and will end on Monday, November 30, 2015 at 4:45 pm. According to officials, (the November blackout will be caused by an Astronomical event between Venus and Jupiter)

Charles Bolden, who was appointed to the head of NASA by President Obama, issued a 1000 page document explaining the event to the White House.

According to the report, on October 26, 2015 Venus and Jupiter will engaged in a close parallelism, only being separated by 1 degree. Venus will pass to the South-west of Jupiter, causing Venus to shine 10 times Brighter than Jupiter. The light from Venus will heat up the gases on Jupiter causing a reaction.

Explorer The Milky Way Like Never Before - photo with 46 billion pixels

For five years, the astronomers from Bochum have been monitoring our Galaxy in the search of objects with variable brightness. Those objects may, for example, include stars in front of which a planet is passing, or multiple systems where stars orbit each other and which obscure each other every now and then. In his PhD thesis, Moritz Hackstein is compiling a catalogue of such variable objects of medium brightness. For this purpose, the team from the Chair of Astrophysics takes pictures of the southern sky night after night. To this end, they use the telescopes at Bochum's university observatory in the Atacama Desert in Chile. More than 50,000 new variable objects, which had hitherto not been recorded in databanks, have been discovered by the researchers so far.

Using the online tool, any interested person can view the complete ribbon of the Milky Way at a glance, or zoom in and inspect specific areas. An input window, which provides the position of the displayed image section, can be used to search for specific objects. If the user types in "Eta Carinae", for example, the tool moves to the respective star; the search term "M8" leads to the lagoon nebula.

The Sky as Seen from Earth- laurent laveder

Born in 1971 in France, Laveder lives in Brittany, the beautiful western tip of the country. He specializes in starry skyscapes -- elegant landscapes under starry skies. He has received several awards for his work, which has appeared in international astronomy magazines and several NASA educational websites. He is also an astronomy journalist.

Laveder specializes in innovations in landscape astrophotography and has created a unique collection of rising and setting Moon photographs that incorporate people in the foreground. He is currently working on 3D starscape images. In March 2008, a book of his photographs, "Le ciel vu de la Terre" ("The Sky as Seen from Earth"), will be published in France.
